Tanna and Dusty
I flew to Minnesota last week for the wedding of Tanna and Dusty Hill. The rainy weather on June 27 would not let up! We started at Tanna's parents house in Beardsly and were able to grab a few porch photos but the rain was still hitting us hard! (You'd never know from the photos.) Then we headed over to Bonanza State Park where the ceremony was supposed to take place. The rain let up for about ten minutes before the ceremony should of started at 5PM (So we got some great photos) but by 5:10 it was pouring again! Tanna made the executive decision to move the ceremony to the reception hall so we all packed up and drove out to the Memorial hall in Clinton. The ceremony was still beautiful with all candlelight and the Scottish bagpipe player was awesome! After the ceremony there was toasts and a great meal, we were able to get a few more shots of Tanna and Dusty in town before they had the traditional "stealing of the bride and groom" by the bridal party. That was something new for me but I guess is a tradition in some of the Minnesota towns for the groomsmen to steal the bride and take her out for a few drinks, while the bridesmaids also "steal the groom". Later when they returned to the reception, the dancing fun began and the bouquet and garter auction. The garter auction was another custom I hadn't experienced before. They literally auctioned the garter away. I think it sold for $140. Pretty good deal! The next day the weather was gorgeous of course and Tanna was gracious enough to let me take her over by the lake in Clinton and some other areas for a few bridals we had missed out from the rain. Here's some photos from the fun weekend.
